SYNOPSIS

1975. Krystyna is a married woman, an engineer at the Gdańsk Shipyard, sailing. Everything seems fine, but anger boils within her. She's fed up with being treated at work, at sea, and even at home, as if she were the "weaker sex." She proposes a solo sailing trip around the world. The authorities see it as propaganda potential – no woman has ever accomplished it. A Polish woman could be the first. Krystyna sets sail for two years. She braves the ocean and fights for survival. She must confront terrible loneliness, physical and mental weakness, and a marital crisis. She discovers a freedom she's never known before, independence. This is the true story of Krystyna Chojnowska-Liskiewicz, the first woman to sail solo around the world.
