A believer in logic is exiled to a town where the most important decisions are made by a tree. Teresa, a powerful judge, will do anything to protect her loved ones. But Teresa's husband is killed. The broken woman must care for her young daughter, Ana, who has locked herself in her father's room and bites anyone who enters until they bleed. The man's funeral will take place in his hometown, which Teresa finds terrifying and Ana sees as magical. Suddenly, Ana disappears, and the townspeople insist they've never seen the girl. Ana doesn't exist, your husband didn't exist, and you're not real either, people tell her. Teresa declares war on the horror town, and although she loses, it's a happy ending.
