SYNOPSIS

After a miscarriage, young freelancer Ewa flees the city to care for her elderly grandmother in an old cottage on the outskirts of a Kurpie village. The idyllic landscape loses its charm when unexplained phenomena occur in the cottage, suggesting—according to the old woman—the presence of a demon from folklore. Ewa initially suspects her grandmother of mild dementia, but when she finds a knife stuck in her bed, she becomes seriously afraid of the old woman. Once close, the women now closely guard their secrets. Ultimately, however, Ewa comes to believe in the existence of a demon who, mercilessly tormenting her in the form of a little boy, will force her to both uncover the dramatic truth about her grandmother's past and confront her own trauma.
