SYNOPSIS

Sixteen-year-old Mike runs away from his family home in Florida to find his father—a criminal he's seen only a few times, but with whom he shares a strong, indefinable bond. Defying family prohibitions, Mike wants to discover for himself who his father truly is. He embarks on a journey across the United States, traveling illegally on freight trains. He mistakenly catches a train traveling in the opposite direction. Encounters with random people, a series of unexpected adventures, and new experiences quickly push his original goal aside. The extreme journey becomes an escape from confronting his own emotions. The story is inspired by the life and work of photographer Mike Brodie.
