During the industry section of the 23rd Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival, the Atelier Scenariuszowe Foundation will organize individual script consultations for documentary filmmakers. The consultants will create a space for in-depth reflection and thoughtful development of the projects' dramaturgy.
This process, situated between mentoring, analysis, and creative partnership, supports filmmakers by bringing an outside perspective to their projects. It helps them identify story strengths, narrative gaps, and potential storytelling opportunities.
Dialogue is at the heart of the consultation. Each hour-long session will begin with open feedback based on a careful reading of the text or film layout, followed by time for questions and analysis of the structure, character motivations, and emotional truth of the story. Instead of providing ready-made solutions, the workshop leaders create an environment in which creators can find their own answers and deepen the narrative. By clarifying the internal logic of the characters and the story itself, the consultation helps build a structure that organically reflects the character of a documentary film.
